Stretch is a flexible piece that can be performed as an encore -- in which case the final chord is included-- or as a bridge linking other compositions in the Abstractions for Piano Series -- in which case the final chord is omitted.

Stretch plays with tonality, meter, dynamics, phrasing and the physical aspects of fingers and keyboard.

Like the other compositions in this Abstractions Series, Stretch is not just an expression of technique or mood, but of ideas that have their counterparts in language, literature and art.
